About Me

I’m Arasch Fatemi, a certified coach by heroic.us, and my passion is helping people forge their own Heroic Journey.

I believe that everyone has the potential to be a hero, but we often get lost along the way. We may be working too hard, or not working hard enough. We may be drained of energy, or we may be using our energy in the wrong way. And we may be disconnected from our love for ourselves, our families, and our communities.

And yes, I've been there, done that, and not done that..

When I first stepped into school as a 15-year-old immigrant, I felt like I had landed in an entirely different world. I didn’t know the language, and every interaction seemed daunting. I felt small, out of place, and deeply insecure. But those experiences taught me something invaluable: how to keep moving forward, even when everything felt uncertain. Persistence, humility, and courage became my allies, and they carried me through.

I worked my way through school, navigating fears of failure that often felt like an ever-present shadow. Over time, I discovered that growth wasn’t about never falling; it was about getting up again and again. That mindset carried me forward, not just through school but through life’s challenges as a son, father, husband, and human being.

Now, with 25 years of marriage, three incredible grown kids, and three dogs who fill our home with love and chaos, I feel deeply rooted in connection and belonging. My family is my anchor and my reminder of what truly matters: love, resilience, and showing up every day for the people who matter most.

Professionally, I’ve spent the past 30 years rising through the technology sector, earning my degrees along the way, including an MBA that provided me with a strong foundation in leadership and strategy. I’ve worked alongside Fortune 200 companies and globally active Fortune 50 organizations. But my career has never been just about technology. At every step, I’ve chosen roles where I could make a positive impact on colleagues and customers alike, helping others achieve their goals while staying true to my own values.

I’m just like anyone else - I’ve struggled, I’ve doubted, and I’ve made mistakes. But what sets my journey apart is the choice I made to stop living on auto-pilot. One principle that transformed my life is what I call “Flip the Switch.” It’s about imagining your ideal self and choosing to turn that vision on, every single day. This practice has helped me control my default reactions, like defensiveness, and has guided me to stay calm under pressure, both at work and at home.

Another guiding principle in my life is the concept of +1. Every moment presents a choice: to step forward into growth (+1) or to step back into safety (-1). By consistently choosing growth, I’ve built momentum toward my highest self. These small, deliberate choices - whether in relationships, work, or personal development - have added up to meaningful change over time.

Above all, I believe that nobody is perfect, and nobody will ever be. We’re all the same in our shared struggles and yet wonderfully different in our unique journeys. What matters is that we keep striving, moving forward, and getting up every time we fall.

If you’re here, reading this, I want you to know: you’re not alone in your struggles. Growth is possible, and it starts with one small step. Let’s take that step together.

Why
heroesrIXs?

The Japanese phrase "七転び、八起き" (nana korobi, ya oki) translates to "seven times down, eight times up" in English. It is a proverb that means to never give up, even in the face of failure. It is a reminder that everyone experiences setbacks, but it is important to learn from them and keep moving forward. And that can only be achieved by not staying down after a fall, but by getting up, every time, all the time.

The word "hero" comes from the Greek word hērōs, which originally meant "protector" or "defender". It was used to refer to a person who was admired for their courage, strength, or achievements.

Why IX? That's just the Roman numeral for the number nine, which is my favorite number. Although, it really should be because we should rise up infinitely!
